Founded by Jason Jones in Plant City, Florida, Planes, Trains & Automobiles (PT&A) began as a hometown celebration of aviation and innovation — and has grown into one of the Tampa Bay region’s most beloved family events. What started as a simple idea to bring airplanes, classic cars, and model trains together for a day of fun has evolved into a hands-on showcase of transportation, technology, and community spirit.
After pausing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PT&A roared back to life in 2023 thanks to the support of the Tampa Bay Aviation Association (TBAA) and event management by Tailwind Enterprises. Since its revival, the event has reached new heights — attracting thousands of visitors each year and raising funds to support aviation education and student scholarships.
Now entering its 14th annual celebration, PT&A continues to inspire future pilots, engineers, and dreamers while offering a fun, affordable day out for families from across the Tampa Bay region.
From gleaming aircraft and vintage automobiles to live demonstrations and interactive exhibits, PT&A is more than an event — it’s a launchpad for the next generation and a proud reflection of the community that makes it all possible.
